Victor Luciano

Victor M. Luciano, Jr., is a Network Specialist for Hospital Based Services (Anesthesiology, Pathology, and Radiology) at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. He joined UTMB in 1974 as a Medical Television Specialist while still a student in high school.

After high school and becoming licensed, Mr. Luciano was the morning DJ and remote broadcast operator at KGBC 1540 AM in Galveston, Texas. During this same time period, Mr. Luciano was the Media Specialist at Galveston College. By 1978, Mr. Luciano left Galveston to attend Texas State Technical Institute, now Texas State Technical College (TSTC), in Waco, Texas with a degree in Instructional Media.

He also served as the ship board computer contract support for Bona shipping. Mr. Luciano has also produced an audio tour for Galveston's East End Historical District and 3D video of the Inner Ear seen on Good Morning America in 2000.

Mr. Luciano returned to UTMB in the late 1980s as a medical photographer in the Department of Radiology. The goal was to move Radiology from traditional photography to digital. Innovations included the introduction of an Agfa film recorder for computer generated slides, video capture and editing (both analog and later digital), 3D animation and 3D computed tomography capture, as well as introducing large format printing to the campus.

In addition to his Media background, Mr. Luicano is a certified Emergency Medical Technician.
